Our Services

Medicine

Much of what we do at Pine Valley Animal Hospital is rehabilitate sick pets. We combine medicine with diagnostic tests and treatments – but the most effective way to keep your pet healthy is to educate you, the owner.

Since pets age many times faster than humans do, regular check ups are vital. We offer a variety of preventive services tailored to your pet’s individual age and needs.

Surgery

At Pine Valley Animal Hospital, we limit the number of surgeries we do each day. This way your pet receives our entire staff’s undivided attention during their stay.

For more, see the Surgery link in the “Our Services” tab.

Dentistry

Your pet’s dental health plays an integral part in its overall good health. Dental disease does not only affect your pet’s mouth, but it can lead to more serious health issues including heart, lung, and kidney disease.

Pine Valley Animal Hospital offers complete dental care service. After all, your pet will live a longer, healthier life if oral health care is maintained.

Ask about our dentistry options and how you can maintain your pet’s dental care at home.

Nutrition

As humans, we understand the importance of healthy eating and its link to preventing and/or managing a wide array of disease. From food allergies to weight issues, your pet will be healthier and more active with good nutrition, which may include a specific diet and supplements depending on its stage in life.

For much more, see the Nutrition link in the “Our Services” tab.

Alternative Medicine

Dr. Yelen chooses alternative veterinary medicine as an option in some cases. Just as acupuncture has been proven effective for humans, your pet may benefit from this procedure without the use of surgery or medicine to treat issues within the organs and muscle tissues. We will soon be offering acupuncture at Pine Valley Animal Hospital.

Dr. Yelen is broadening the hospital’s horizons via laser therapy. Please stay tuned as more information will be available in the new year!

Anesthesiology

Unlike human medicine anesthesia is used for multiple purposes other than surgery. Anesthesia is a common tool used to gain diagnostic information safely and accurately for procedures such as radio-graphs, biopsies, orthopedic and behavioural examinations. Pet owners often find themselves concerned with procedures involving anesthesia. We take recommend taking all precautions when using anesthesia to help minimize risks and reduce owners concerns.

Pre Anesthetic Blood Work is strongly recommended for all patients. This helps us to determine the function of the kidneys and liver while monitoring ranges of blood glucose levels, red and white blood cell count. A more extensive blood profile is recommended for animals in their senior years.

For much more on how we approach anesthesia in your pet, see the Anesthesiology link in the “Our Services” tab.
